Ground floor 17th century cottage in the village of Staveley in the Lake District National Park. Fox Barn is nestled into the hillside on a quiet country lane opposite the weir, with the fells beckoning right, and is a five minute riverside stroll from the centre of Staveley. This charming cottage has a south-facing patio, with seating and barbecue.The village of Staveley offers a whole host of amenities, including Staveley Mill Yard, cycle hire, outdoor shops and artisan bakery.

Lovely peaceful location, property comfortable, well equipped and modernised throughout. Host friendly and responsive.
We had a fantastic stay at Fox barn. We fell in love with Staveley. The location of the accomodation was perfect for some lovely runs, for a scenic walk into the town and as a base to explore the lake District. It was clean and well presented with a very helpful guide for visitors. We spent a lot of time at the local brewery, lovely bread from the artisan bakery, we were delighted to find an inov8 store, we joined in with the Staveley 5km and our little boy happily spent hours throwing stones in the nearby water. We couldn’t have chosen somewhere nicer. Staveley has a great community vibe and has a great mix of people and a lot going for it and the cottage was absolutely perfect. Very comfy beds, spacious bath and very tidy.
We’ll definitely be back.

The Living Room
The living and dining room is a great space to relax at the end of the day, or perhaps for a cosy afternoon when the weather’s not so great. With comfortable sofas, a TV with all major streaming services and a great selection of books and board games, you’ll not be short of things to do.
The Kitchen
The kitchen is well-equipped and hopefully has everything you need, regardless of the amount of cooking you plan to do yourself. With a dishwasher, microwave, electric oven/grill and gas hob, we also try to ensure that there’s more than enough crockery cutlery and glasses to keep you going.
The Double Room
The double bedroom at the rear of the property is a calm and quiet space with views out over the fields. With a cosy and comfortable bed, it’s a great place for a lie-in, often with only the sounds of the sheep for company.
The King/Twin Room
The bedroom is designed for both comfort and convenience, which can be set up as either a King or a Twin room. With plenty of storage space and tasteful hand picked furnishings, it’s a lovely place to rest up after a day of adventures in the Lakes.
The Bathroom
The spacious bathroom offers somewhere to soak after a long day of hillwalking or a hot shower to rejuvenate you. With underfloor heating and hot water on demand, the bathroom should have everything you need at the start or end of the day.
The Garden/Patio
The south-facing patio garden runs the length of the property and is a great place to relax and watch the world go by. The area boasts a lovely seating area and a barbeque, perfect for those days in the sun.

This is a lovely apartment in a beautiful and convenient location. Staveley is a great place to stay while in the Lake District, with its own shops, cafe, pubs and train station, lovely local walks. The apartment felt cosy and homely and had every facility we needed (we are a family of three plus a dog). The furnishings are a little tired and the carpet in the lounge could maybe do with a deep-clean or replacing, but the beds were very warm and comfortable. Overall the apartment was very clean and easy to manage the temperature throughout with adjustable central heating plus an electric heater in the lounge, openable windows and good ventilation. It would benefit from a second key being available, so two can come and go separately while keeping the place secure. This is a great place to stay for a couple or small family.
